About MCI
Medical
One of the greatest needs individuals have is that of good health. Without good health ones quality of life is greatly limited.
Compassion
Providing medical help in time of need is great but giving it in a compassionate manner focusing on the whole individual is even better. Meeting physical, spiritual and educational needs in the spirit of love and compassion is our goal.
International
The above needs are worldwide. As funds are available, the world is our goal.
That is why the name of this charitable organization is Medical Compassion International.
Medical Compassion International is interested in people groups and individuals who live in regions lacking sufficient medical facilities, personnel, and finances to maintain good health. Areas that fit this requirement can be found around the world. Many of these are infested with mosquitos that carry such diseases as malaria and dengue fever. The same areas are known for tuberculosis, hepatitis, cholera, typhoid and HIV-Aids. All of these diseases can be fatal to both children and adults. When one reads the newspapers and researches these diseases on the Internet, most of the press and money from foundations and countries with concern for the needy, tend to look to Africa where, in many instances, the greatest needs may be found. The whole truth of the matter is; many areas of the world are in great need. Not the least of these is Asia. Malaria, tuberculosis and other tropical diseases range from endemic to epidemic in proportion in much of the region.
For this reason, the initial thrust of Medical Compassion International will focus on Southeast Asia. Knowing that people’s needs do not stop with the physical, MCI would like to help meet spiritual and educational needs as well. Click the links below to read about the projects that are currently being promoted. There are two hospital projects in southwest Philippines. One is a “Dream Hospital” and the other is a small hospital that has been serving a large region of the Philippines for over thirty years. Another project is the organization and equipping of an immediate medical response organization centered in the Philippines with the ability to respond quickly to medical needs in time of natural disaster and other medical emergencies anywhere in Asia.
